Welcome to Last Mask Standing
Last mask standing. It’s personal, it’s professional, it kind of hurts to write.
This is a newsletter for the one person in the room still wearing a mask. The person who knows we’ll see a next wave and their vaccine protection is likely to wane. The parents of the only masked children in the school. The physicians who still see acute COVID cases and everyone who understands how bad long COVID can be.
This is a newsletter for people who are finding ways to be both happy and safe. Who know that normal life may have to look different, but it can still be normal. Who can have fun on a roadtrip while wearing a seatbelt and avoiding indoor dining. Who feel fear and also have joy in their lives.
Who are finding a better path than denial or nihilism.
You might be alone in that room, but you’re not alone in the world. Consider this newsletter your masked and distanced meets-outdoors support group.
In the meantime, tell your friends!
